EIN funds
Almost one hundred percent of proceeds from EIN fund raising activities go directly towards supporting elephants in Sri Lanka. EIN volunteers pay for their own travel to Sri Lanka to work with elephants and contribute their time to support EIN fund raising activities, and there are no administrative or overhead costs. The only proceeds that do not go directly to elephants are used to cover minor costs such as purchase of painting materials and rental of table/booth/room for sales.
To date proceeds from EIN fund raising have been used to support
- Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which is a permanent sanctuary to over 70 orphaned elephants that cannot be released to the wild because of lack of habitat.
-the Elephant Transit Centre at Udawalawe National Park, which rehabilitates orphaned elephants until they are old enough and well enough to be reintroduced to the wild.
-Udawalawe National Park, to reclaim more elephant corridors and build electric fences to reduce elephant-human conflicts.
-Millenium Elephant Foundation, which operates a mobile clinic for sick and wounded wild elephants, and cares for elderly retired elephants whose owners can’t afford to care for them.
- Dehiwala Zoo where our artist resides.
- A new housing project after the Tsunami in 2004.
