Who We Are:
Lori Forster (Founder and Executive Director)
Lori volunteers at the Valley Zoo (Edmonton, Canada), Dehiwala National Zoo (Colombo, Sri Lanka) and Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka. Lori has been employed at Environment Canada in Edmonton for over a decade helping animals by working to protect their environment from toxic substances. Lori has trained as a mahout (traditional elephant keeper) and has been able to use this skill to assist Dehiwala Zoo in launching their elephant painting program. Lori has also served on the Board of Directors with the Valley Zoo Development Society, and chaired the organization's Art Committee. (info@elephantsinneed.org)
Lisa Wilkinson (Art Director and Scientific Advisor)
Lisa is an artist and a species at risk biologist with the Alberta Government in Edson, Canada. Lisa is also an artist and accomplished potter and her elephant pottery is available at EIN fundraisers. Lisa came out to Sri Lanka summer 2004 and assisted with Devi's debut art exhibition and gave great ideas to further tap into and refine Devi's artistic abilities.
Sheila Risbud (Director)
Sheila has much experience with wild animals, as she is raising three children of the Homo sapiens species of mammal. Sheila is also EIN's French and Spanish communication specialist. Sheila spoke on behalf of EIN on CBC radio, en francais.
Lori Janewski (Director)
Lori loves all animals and wanted to provide her professional marketing expertise to the project. She reviewed all materials in creating the website, and is a fully functioning volunteer at all our public events.
